There is something about the movie Avatar that very few people seem to have realized. I have found only one other person who noted it.
The natives of Pandora were, in fact, far superior to the humans, both biologically and culturally, and probably technologically, although their technology was all biotech. They had never encountered any threat like the humans, but they were able to figure out how to recruit double agents when they needed them and use them to prevail over the humans. If they had not been able to recruit Jake and the others, they would have found another way. The humans were stuck in the biases of their own culture and assumed that the natives (was their name Na'bi? I cannot recall, since I have trouble with names.) were primitive and would be at their mercy. I think this is a human tendency. But, I believe "shock and awe" rarely works, and is often based on the assumed inferiority of others, in this case the Pandoran's.
