Steve,
I just finished Lion's Blood over the weekend. Quite a book. Not an "easy read" but I don't think you intended it to be. Particularly being of Irish descent, it made some bits poignant. But it was a very dense, and quite believable alternate history. I particularly loved how one of your battle scenes had a feeling both of the Alamo, and Henry V at the same time. (Especially the inspiring speech by Kai very much the cadence and feeling of the St. Crispin's day speech.) All in all, a great read.

That's good to hear. I've all ready picked up Zulu Heart. It's in the to be read pile.
There's something about the physical aspect of the book that sort of puzzled me. It's a pretty decent length book, but the pages felt a bit thinner to me. They didn't feel quite like what I'm used to, and I had a hard time determining if the quality actually felt better or worse than my regular fare. I would normally expect a book this long to be thicker. Personally I'm glad it's not, because I often get the sense that genre books are artificially a little too big. As if its a psychological ploy. Give the buyer a thicker book, and they'll think they are getting their money's worth. Personally, give me a well written book, regardless of length, and I'll feel like I'm getting my money's worth.
But that may jut be me.
