The following idea was sent to me by a young fan (too young to post to this forum). He wanted me to comment, and I thought I would where everyone could see my thoughts. Here goes:

alright this is my idea
"In the shadow of the empire book there's this guy named Xizor (a Faleen) and he's the leader of a criminal organization called Black Sun. In that book his space hanger blew up and everbody thought he died in it .Well he survived and pretend's he accepts the Yuuzhan Vong's "Religion" (nearly thirty years later) and he gets implants that the Vong have. Since he is a Faleen he uses his abbility to control his pheromone's to get what he want's from the female shaper's such as Vong technology. Deep in the unknown regions he has been making in secret over thirty years a huge army.
Thats my idea its three words over I hope thats not a problem, I couldnt find anything more to delete anyways I hope to hear what you think about it and please dont sugar coat it, just give it to me straight.

O.K--this is fan fiction. You can't just write a Star Wars novel. You have to be invited to do so by the editors of the company holding the franchise rights. But let's assume that all of that has been taken care of.
1) What does he want? You've established a basic situation, where this guy has gone through these things and made himself into the person he wanted to be, and created a huge army. Now...what do you do with him? What is his challenge? What is his greatest weakness?
What you've set up here is a situation, really the "set up" for a book, and not the plot of a book. Maybe I'm wrong about this...I suppose you could actually create this character and follow him for thirty years, but that's a bit dry, so what are the most critical aspects of his story?
Look over at my blog, and the comments on the Hero's Journey, and the Chakras. Read and re-read them, and apply them to Star Wars and other favorite movies until you have an instinctive grasp. Then go back and look at your character's story again, and see what presents itself. You've certainly described an action hero who could exist in the Star Wars universe. What remains is what you will do with him.
