The Highway 101 emails mentioned an alternative to pure intermittent fasting in which you only eat fresh fruits and vegetables on "fasting" days.
My wife is unable to fast for various reasons, but is interested in knowing more about this alternative. Specifically--is it only raw fresh fruits and vegetables. What about cooked food? What limits are there on this, exactly? How far can you take it before you're not really fasting at all anymore?

Only fresh fruits and vegetables, but they could certainly be steamed or cooked. Stay away from starchy, heavy vegetables, though. No heavy salad dressing, or croutons. Trust me: your unconscious will try to find "cheats" like crazy. Give it no opening.
