How meditation changes the brain... www.blog.newsweek.com/blogs/labnotes/archive/2008/03/25/the-lotus-and-the-synapse.aspxMy favorite part? "But there is one clue that he’s right: he’s been finding that the more hours of meditation a monk has had, the greater the brain changes. Call it a dose-response effect, with meditation being the dose and brain changes the response. That’s a strong hint that the dose causes the response, and is not just a coincidence. "- This very much matches my experience with adding meditation time into my life. Small doses of meditation are just as effective as large doses, just scaled to the amount of time you put in... - I would note that I find both physical exercise and meditation give me greater results when I do them in smaller chunks scattered through the week. Heh, Time-released meditation works for me!- (Come to think of it, this is also kind of how I treat fasting. I fast for a day here and a day there. I don't fast for days in a row, it is spread through my week.)
