Adam provided the link. It is a very short read. Very simple to comprehend.
I chose to go with this particular method because it fit my lifestyle, almost like it was tailored to my current life. I believe that raises my potential for success. I didn't eat breakfast in the morning. My first meal of the day was typically between 12-1. And I almost am never hungry for food at that hour, but was primarily going to lunch because that's when everyone else was going to eat lunch.
To my mind, if I'm eating because everyone else is, but not because I'm hungry, that told me something wasn't exactly right. So I tried this method out.
I was able to not eat until dinner on the first day. I never felt real hunger. I didn't even get to eat until almost 6 PM, and it made no difference to me.
I don't know that after one week I can claim to have lost weight. My weight is lower than last week, but is still within normal variation. I'm actually up a bit today (had a fair amount of salty food last night, and am hoping that it water weight), but I chose to take a day off yesterday, so I could enjoy spending my wife's first Mother's Day without guilt.
I'm giving this method a few months trial. Then I'll re-evaluate how it has affected my life.

I really like the Warrior Diet idea of breaking fast: 1) Start with fresh fruits and vegetables. 2) Then lean proteins 3) Then complex carbohydrates 4) Then simple carbs (sugary stuff)
If you eat in this pattern, even if you love that cake and those cookies, you'll do minimum damage. You're giving your body exactly what it NEEDS first. Only then do you get what you WANT.

Adam, thanks for the info on the Fast Five. Steve, I've printed out a version of your post on the Warrior diet. I have it in front of me when I'm eating dinner so I don't space out and forget.
My nurse had an interesting comment about starting a fast. She suggested that you ease into it with oatmeal and yogurt, like Activa or that new immune system booster yogurt. If you need to break your fast because of hunger, reach for an oatmeal package or small 90 cal container of Activa. Both are filling and can help you level your blood sugar.
What do you think of her suggestion? I experienced raging hunger the first day I tried this.

I'm only concerned with the long-term health benefits. Weight loss is an interesting by-product. That said, ANYTHING that allows you to "wave" the number of calories from one day to another will have a positive effect. And if you try IF it is very smart to have a health professional in your corner. Pure hunger can be managed with Hoodia. Desert Burn is a good brand... Good luck!
